Installation of NZ Marina Charts

The NZMariner are HCRF raster charts, which means they are encoded for security - in this case not for copy protection but to ensure that the data is not tampered with between supplier and user. The HCRF installation process is designed for the use of CD and floppy disk. You can burn a CD and a floppy disk from the downloaded files or follow the following instructions (which is easier and quicker!).

Important: If you already have ARCS (UKHO) or seaFarer (AHO) charts installed then you should set up a different ARCS folder for the NZMariner charts and use the Chart settings (charts->Settings) option to swap between them.

To install the NZMariner charts

1. Create a spare folder (for example NZraw) and Unzip the  downloaded files to a folder (you can overwrite if prompted). This will be referred to as the 'NZfolder' further down

2. Use the seaPro menu (or equivalent option in your product) Chart->Install Charts and select the HCRF option under Raster charts towards the bottom of the dialog.

3. Follow the onscreen wizard
Note: You will need to install permits, select Yes. You will then be asked to locate the permits. Browse to the NZfolder ->PERMITS->EURONAV folder

4. You will be asked to insert the Area CD, as you don't have a CD just press Next

5. You will get a message 'can't find the readme.cdv file'. Press Ignore and browse to the NZfolder and click on the Readme.cdv file.

6. You will then see a list of available charts - If they arn't selected press 'All charts' and then Next etc.

Note:
If you unzipped the update download to a different folder or are doing an update only  you will need to repeat the above (minus the permit install) for the update folder.

You need to be using seaPro lite+ or above and not the demo or free version.
